About the Artist
My work is rooted in curiosity, exploration, and a genuine enjoyment of making. I’m drawn to color, movement, and the way an image or place feels, allowing each piece to develop intuitively rather than follow a fixed plan.
While nature and everyday imagery often appear in my work, they act more as a starting point than a destination. Some pieces stay close to their source, while others shift as color, texture, and composition take over. I’m most interested in responding to what’s happening within the painting itself and letting it evolve naturally.
I began making art simply because I enjoyed it, doodling, taking commissions, and creating whatever felt interesting at the time. That instinct has remained at the core of my practice, even as it’s become more consistent and intentional.
Over the past several years, I’ve committed to returning to my work almost every day. Through that process, I’ve learned to trust my instincts, embrace change, and allow my work to grow without forcing it into a narrow definition. My focus is on creating work that feels honest, visually engaging, and worth spending time with.
Recently, I’ve been working primarily with oil pastels, I love their immediacy and the ways they allow for layered, tactile mark-making. Lately my work has begun to shift further from direct representation, leaning more into abstraction while still holding onto a sense of place, light, and feeling.
